Halwa is a famou sweet dish of subcontinent which is made of combination of fruits,nuts or lentil.It comes from the Arabic word ''hulw'' which means sweet.It is basically Turkish delight which was prepared in the kitchen of Ottoman Empire during 1520 to 1556.The most famous classic list of this dessert in subcontinent include Soji ka Halwa,Lauki ka Halwa,chicpea lentil Halwa,Beetroot Halwa,Aloo ka Halwa.In modern days more recipe of halwa are adding in this list such as in Pakistan Multani sohan Halwa,Habshi halwa,Anday ka Halwa,Badam ka halwa,khoya ka Halwa.
Carrot Halwa or Gajar ka halwa is also super common dish in Pakistan.It is winter season dish.This is sweet and delicious but it is very time taking dish.Specially 2/3 kg carrot are commonly used in this recipe.To wash,pealed and grated the carrot is very hard working.During preparation oil is heated in the pan fried these grated carrot in the oil for a while then.After that add the sugar and mix with grated carrot.when carrot are saute in the oil & sugar well,the milk is pour in the pan,cook the milk with grated carrot on medium flame until it get dry. add khoya,nuts and cardamom in it in the last and mix all these ingredients well.

Ingredients
Carrot 1 kg(grated)
Milk 2 litr
Sugar 2 cup
Khoya// Mawa 1 cup
Desi ghee 4 tbsp
Almond sliced
green cardamom
Milk 2 litr
Sugar 2 cup
Khoya// Mawa 1 cup
Desi ghee 4 tbsp
Almond sliced

How to cook??
- Heat the ghee in the Pan.
- Then put the Grated Carrot in the melted, hot ghee.
- Add sugar also, mix carrot & sugar well togather on medium heat.
- Cook until water get dry.
- When carrot get dry, pour all milk.
- When milk dry, the dessert is ready now.
- Add cardamom & Almond now.
- Turn off the heat now.Let the halwa cool.
- When it gets cool, add the khoya//mawa in the halwa well.
- Khoya//mawa mix with the halwa well.
- Now halwa is ready, now dish it out and garnish with the nuts.
