INGREDIENTS

  1. Split gram lentil 1 cup
  2. Bottle gourd (soak in water) 250 gm
  3. Garlic cloves 4
  4. Onion (sliced) 1 medium size
  5. Salt (according to taste)
  6. Whole red chillies 7-8
  7. Dry coriander 1 tspn
  8. Cumin seeds 1 tspn
  9. Fenugreek seeds 1/2 tspn
  10. White urad lentil 1 tbspn
  11. Mustard seeds 1/2 tspn
  12. Turmeric 1 tspn
  13. Tamarind paste 4 tbspn
  14. Green chillies 3 
  15. Cooking Oil (as required)


PREPARATION METHOD

  • First of all, wash & soak gram lentil//chana daal in water for 3 hour.
  • After 3 hours,drain its water.
  • To boil the lentil,add 2 glass of water in a pan and heat the water.
  • When water is boiled,add split gram lentil.
  • Also add sliced onion, turmeric & 2 tbsp cooking oil.
  • Mix all ingredients & cook them well.
  • When it come to boil on medium flame.
  • Now cover & cook it on low flame.
  • When lentil is soft.
  • Lightly mash it with spatula.
  • After that add all roasted & grinded spices in lentil.
  • Also add bottle gourd.
  • Add 1 more glass of water & mix all ingredients well.
  • Now cook it on low flame until bottle gourd get soft.
  • The split gram lentil is ready when bottle gourd is soft and lentil is thicken.


Preparation of Seasoning


  1. Prepare seasoning for cook & thick lentil.
  2. For seasoning,fried the chopped garlic cloves in the cooking oil.
  3. and fry it until this chopped onion turned brown.
  4. When chopped onion turned golden brown,add green chillies & mustard seeds  in it.
  5. And fry them a little bit.
  6. Now seasoning is ready.
  7. Pour all seasoning into lentil.
  8. Now dish out this amazing,unique and simple recipe.
  9. And serve with chapati or white rice.


Roasting & preparation method of all spices


  • Now roast all the spices such as whole red chillies,dry coriander,cumin seeds,fenugreek seeds,Mustard seeds,white urad lentil on the other frying pan.
  • Stir all these spices continuously.
  • Grinded all these spices,when they are roasted well.
